It may be impossible to find a solo that sounds happier than this one! The fast, upbeat tempo in 4/4 and the key of C major will make it attractive to students who will have no problem imagining a day spent outside in the sun. The right hand melody remains mostly in a C five-finger pattern as the left hand accompaniment provides rhythmic vitality with open fifths in various octaves. Staccatos, accents and some syncopation add to the energy of the piece.
