Beatrice Miller wrote this solo in loving memory of her husband, Don. This moving musical tribute is written in D minor and features a lyrical melody supported by a rich harmonic structure. It should be played very expressively with attention to bringing out the melodic line. The left-hand accompaniment grows increasingly complex, making the return of the opening melody on the second page very heartfelt and dramatic. This challenging solo will be musically rewarding as well as emotionally satisfying.
