The slow, bluesy style of this piece is sure to appeal to students. It features a syncopated melody and an easy ostinato accompaniment. The left-hand ostinato uses blocked 5ths, 6ths and 7ths while the right-hand melody stays mostly in a C major 5-finger pattern. The sharp second and flat third of the pattern creates the blues sound. The 2/4 time signature gives students the rare opportunity to play in this meter.
