This Middle C position solo is actually the story of two race cars racing each other around the track. The right-hand passages represent one car and the left-hand passages represent the other. The race is filled with typical racing events: cars weaving in and out of traffic (ms. 11-16), horns honking (ms. 13, 18-21), a pit stop (ms. 25) and a caution flag (ms. 32-33) before the two cars finally race to the finish line (ms. 34-37) in a dead heat! It's anybody's guess which car actually won . . . or did they tie? Elementary.
