“This edition of 24 Caprices, Op. 1 by Niccolo Paganini is a transcription for the Flute by Patrick Gallois. Initially written for the Violin, some of these caprices may also stay in your head for a while (n. 9, 14, 24). They will make you work on the speed (n.1), the sonority (n.2), the vibrato, and they will express feelings that can be perceived through the pieces such as doubt (n.4), desperation (n.6) and hope (n.11), for example. In this book, the theme and his variations enable an overview of all the technical aspects to obtain a clear and beautiful sonority. These pieces being quite challenging, an upper intermediate / advanced level would be necessary.”
