The young Sudhana, protagonist of several Asian writings, meets nine teachers on his journey. After each encounter, he processes the experienced and learned. In the process, all of the figures that have appeared so far remain present - a weaving that finds its pictorial equivalent in the beaded net, which adorns the heavenly palace of the god Indra: every pearl is an individual that simultaneously mirrors all other pearls.
