The Gravity of Kindness is Howard Goodall’s stunning setting of Naomi Shihab Nye’s poem Kindness, for SATB choir and small orchestra or piano with optional soprano solo. It was composed for the highly regarded Addison Singers, in memory of their long-standing member Cathy Bereznicki. Kindness is framed by two lullabies: the Mexican Arrorró mi niño and the well-known Coventry Carol, underpinned by the universal themes of unconditional love and the hope that kindness brings.
The contemporary, reflective and uplifting style of the music makes this a versatile work: whilst ideal for Christmas concerts, it is equally suitable for performance at any time of the year. Orchestral parts are also available
