Godar’s large and varied output includes an oratorio, works for orchestra, chorus, numerous chamber works, educational pieces and a number of award-winning film scores. His haunting music was little known outside Eastern Europe until ECM Records released his vocal cycle Mater in 2006, which features stunning performances from Czech singer Iva Bittova. This piece is from Faber's Choral Signature Series which introduces a wealth of new or recently written choral music to choirs in search of fresh repertoire. the series draws in a rich diversity of living composers and includes both lighter and more challenging contemporary works, offering a thrilling array of varied styles.
