From the “44 Duos for two violins“ In this album, the experienced flutist, saxophonist and composer Marcin Langer offers 20 arrangements of Bartók’s miniatures “44 Duos for two violins“. The difficulty ranges from easy to moderate. Exciting harmonies, surprising dialogues and interesting rhythms meet lively dances and melodies that seem familiar, as they are based on traditional cultural heritage. It is pure interaction how flute and clarinet combine, support and complement each other without losing their independence. Changes in articulation, meter and tempo as well as dynamic nuances support the expressiveness and interpretation of the works. Especially in view of the fact that the repertoire for flute with clarinet is limited, the arrangements are a welcome enrichment of the duo literature for this instrumentation.
