The Piano Trio (1982) by Einar Englund (1916-1999) is sombre in mood. In the second movement, Englund's trademark playfulness carries a hint of sarcasm and at times builds up to a wild militant dance before finally melting into reconciliation. The last movement sets off at a wild, breath-taking gallop. The dancing theme and swinging elements of the middle section add a touch of jazzy colour in places. The parts are in B4 size. The piano part is the manuscript of the composer.
