Slip and Slide by Allison Buettner is a fun and easy way to teach glissandi to your young players and prepare them for shifting. Pitch bends are also used, to mimic techniques in bluegrass fiddling. There is no worry if players don't quite make the pitch at the end of the slides, as that pitch is considered approximate. Brief double-stop and pizzicato passages give the piece color and variety.
