Suite of eight pieces from Shostakovich's incidental music to Shakespeare's Hamlet, Balzac's La Comédie humaine, and the cartoon film Adventures of Korzynkina, arranged by Elizabeth Wilson, Stefano Pierini and Viktor Ekimovsky. Six of the pieces are scored for string quartet; the others are for piano quintet. An attractive set of miniatures in contrasting moods, of 15 minutes' duration.
