It is not easy to make a selection of works to program an album for the series Música de Cuba (Music of Cuba), it is not an easy task to choose the ones to be included, specially when there is such a rich and wide range of songs, of melodies and rhythms, of catchy and witty lyrics that so many past and present authors have left in the collective memory of the Cuban people. Even so, we have ventured to prepare this volume number 17 with songs that became very successful thanks to the inspiration of famous authors such as Arturo Alonso, Julio Blanco Leonard, Andrés Castillo, José Fernándes Díaz (Joseíto Fernández), Lorenzo Hierrezuelo, José Antonio Méndez, Ramón Mongo Rives, Roberto Nodarse, Lázaro Núnez, Ignacia Pineiro, Félix Reyna and Rosendo Ruiz, Jr.
