Ohio Skylines tours the first state formed out of the Northwest Territory. Each movement visits a different city and its highlights. "Buckeye Fanfare," with its rhythmic chords and accents, represents the city of Columbus, home to Ohio State University and its football team, the Ohio State Buckeyes. Dayton, the birthplace of the Wright Brothers, is depicted in "Taking Flight," a lyrical piece with a soaring melody over an ostinato bass. Visit Cincinnati, the Queen City of the West, in "Boom Town." This toe-tapping piece features a western flair with a lively rhythm and feel. "Rockin' at the Hall" in the city of Cleveland brings the suite to a fast and rhythmic finish as it celebrates the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (UK Exam Grades 4-5).
