葉小綱（生於 1955 年）是中國最廣為人知的青年作曲家之一。1978-1983 年，他就讀於中央音樂學院。早在 1982 年，他就獲得了亞歷山大-特切列普甯作曲比賽一等獎。1983 年，完成學業的葉小綱被任命為中央音樂學院的教師和 "駐院作曲家"。1987 年，葉小綱前往美國羅切斯特大學伊斯曼音樂學院繼續深造，並獲得碩士學位。他曾多次接受國際委約，其作品曾在東亞、紐西蘭、美國和歐洲廣泛演出"

Xiaogang Ye (b. 1955) is one of the most widely known young composers in China. From 1978–1983 he studied at the Central Conservatory of Music of China. As early as 1982 he won 1st prize in the Alexander Tcherepnin Composition Competition. In 1983, having completed his studies, he was appointed to a teaching post and ‘Composer in residence’ at the Central Conservatory of Music of China. From 1987 Xiaogang Ye continued his studies in the USA at the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester where he obtained his master degree. He has had many international commissions and his works have widely been performed in Eastern Asia, New Zealand, USA and in Europe.
